UIDAI permits people with Aadhaar cardsto change their address and without the need of documentation. Aadhaar cardholders could change their address, even if they do not have proof of identity.
New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped an important feature which allows you to alter the address of your Aadhaar card's address without a proof of address.
UIDAI allows the users of Aadhaar cards to change their address and address without any form of documentation. Aadhaar cardholders are able to change their address, as long as they consent to the authentication to the identity verifier. An address verifier could be a friend, relative landlord, family member or even a friend who permits the Aadhaar card holder to utilize their address for proof.
UIDAI has stopped using this feature. UIDAI has responded to an Aadhaar Card user by tweeting the ability to update the address on Aadhaar Card using an Address Validation Form has been ended. UIDAI has asked that the Aadhaar issuer to notify users to update their address using a current PoA document.
Dear Resident Attention: The Address Validation Letter service has been suspended until the next notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
